A commentary on what moving to a “green” society really means. How this overused

word (Green) originated in the concept of Sustainable Development/Sustainability- a

human development system that  better balances our resources to leave a viable/healthy

future for our children. Sustainable Development provides an environment of hope by

ensuring more equality of opportunity and the distribution of basic physical needs like

water, food and health care. Education is the key to implementing these sustainable

practices -for example, teaching sustainable agriculture practice that uses compost

rather than chemical fertilizer to mimic how nature rebuilds healthy soil.

It starts by inspiring individuals and communities to change the way they live, to

be less wasteful and more focused on the welfare of others.
